People say “warabimochi” is one of popular sweets in western Japan in summer. “Warabimochi” is made from “warabi” powder which is a kind of starch. So the texture is glutinous and soft.

Inside the dumplings, there are some “kuromitsu” syrup. “Kuromitsu” is brown sugar syrup, which has unique aroma and taste. My dad is a big fan of “kuromitsu”.

We often see that “warabimochi” comes with “kinako” powder and “kuromitsu”. “Kinako” is soybean powder, which is a popular ingredients for “wagashi” (Japanese traditional sweets).

Good as expected!
The “warabimochi” dumplings were soft enough and there are just right amount of “kuromitsu” syrup inside!
